As of July 10, 2025, ANRE's Order No. 56/2025 for the approval of the methodological rules on the exemption from the payment of regulated tariffs applied by electricity network operators for stored electricity sourced from the grid ("Methodological Rules") entered into force. The measure aims to eliminate double charging of stored energy and to encourage investment in storage technologies.
Main measures introduced by the Methodological Rules:
▸ Exemption from payment of transmission, distribution and system service tariffs for electricity stored and fed back into the grid;
▸ Exemption from green certificates for this energy;
▸ Introduction of clear reporting obligations for grid operators on stored energy quantities;
▸ Implementation of a uniform procedure for both concession and non-concession operators.
The above exemptions apply only to energy stored and fed back into the grid. For the storage facility's consumption and technological losses, the tariffs remain applicable.
